Christmas break? A perfect time to find out what's going on in the world of homeschooling: It's the latest installment of the Carnival of Homeschooling...
Heading to the Cape for the New Year, which promises to be much quieter than previous years. I'm going to make a batch of these: The Black Pearl. Bundle up, sit by the water, and have a cigar.

A flying car? No. An electric car. But the styling and design are pointing ever more to personal airborne transportation...
Every now and then when I'm travelling for business or pleasure, I happen to see a soldier or two at airports. On one occasion not long ago there were two soldiers just ahead of me at an airport coffee shop, and I jumped ahead so I could buy their drinks. In fact, whenever I see men and women in uniform I thank them.

And so should you.

What the Not My Fault daughter will be making for breakfast Christmas morning: Eggnog pancakes. Gaaaaahhh...

She just doesn't know it yet. I'll leave the ingredients and the recipe at the foot of her bed -- she'll figure it out.

I came in from a little Christmas party late last Friday and turned on the Sci-Fi channel (free advise: always check the Sci-Fi channel if you're up after midnight. That's when the really good stuff or the really cheesy stuff is on). Anyway I turn it on and they're having a Firefly marathon. And just as I tune in the Man They Call Jayne is delivering the now-famous line from the Train Job episode: "Time for some thrilling heroics".

Instant classic! I watched about 3 more episodes before retiring...
The blog: updated just frequently enough now to make you wonder why. Missed Thanksgiving posts, missed Pearl Harbor day post, missed build-up to Christmas posts. So what am I back with?
